Vietnam honours UK-based Medical Aid

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland Tran Quang Hoan has handed over the certificate of merit of Deputy PM and FM Pham Gia Khiem to the UK-based Medical and Scientific Aid for Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia on the occasion of its 45th founding anniversary.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland Tran QuangHoan has handed over the certificate of merit of Deputy Prime Ministerand Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem to the UK-based Medical andScientific Aid for Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia (MSAVLC) on theoccasion of its 45 th founding anniversary.

TheVietnamese diplomat also presented the certificate of merit of thePresidium of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations to MSAVLC’sformer Secretary General Madeline Sharp in recognition of her assistanceto Vietnam , especially in the medical sector, over the past 40years.

Addressing the awards ceremony in London onJuly 13, Ambassador Hoan highlighted Sharp’s contributions to Vietnam, confirming that MSAVLC and her activities have helped broaden themutual understanding between the two peoples.

Set upin 1965 as the Medical Aid Committee for Vietnam , MSAVLC providedmedical equipment and organised blood donations for Vietnam duringthe latter’s struggle against US aggressors.

Additionally, it assisted the nation in carrying out a number ofmedical, scientific and educational projects in the northern mountainousprovinces of Tuyen Quang, Son La and Lai Chau and the centralprovinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri./.

Purpose-driven AI education prepares students for digital, people-centred future

Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh, Director General of the MoET's Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, said that during the development of the AI competency framework, the institute surveyed more than 11,000 students nationwide in early 2024. Results showed that 87% were aware of AI applications in education, but major challenges included limited knowledge and skills, inadequate equipment and technology, and insufficient teacher guidance.
