Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat visited Israel from May 15-16 to boost relations with the Middle East country.

During his stay, Minister Phat held talks with his Israeli counterpart, Orit Noked, and Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour Shalom Simhon.

The Israeli officials affirmed that the Israeli Government wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all aspects, especially in economics-trade, agriculture, science and technology, education and training.

Minister Phat said he is pleased with the rapid development of the two countries’ relationship and hopes that the implementation of the current high-level agreement will deepen bilateral ties.

He suggested the Israeli Government create policies to ensure favourable conditions for businesses of both sides to strengthen cooperation, especially in agricultural technology transfer.

He also asked the Israeli Government to expand training programmes for Vietnamese students at Israel ’s agricultural research centres.

On the occasion, Minister Phat and his Israeli counterpart signed a cooperative agreement between the two countries in the veterinary field.

During his visit, Minister Phat attended the 18 th International Agricultural Technology Exhibition (AGRITECH 18) and visited the Volcani Institute of Agricultural Research.

He also met the leaders of leading agricultural groups in Israeli such as Afimilk, Green 2000, NaanDanJane and Aspasyan.
