Vietnam joins document preparations for APPF-29

Vietnam proposed initiatives and resolutions at an online session on November 8 in preparation for the 29th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-29), to be hosted by the Republic of Korea (RoK) in December.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam proposed initiativesand resolutions at an online session on November 8 in preparation for the 29th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-29), to be hostedby the Republic of Korea (RoK) in December.

The Vietnamese delegation to the 12-day session is ledby Vu Hai Ha, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for ExternalRelations.

Participants are scheduled to look into draft documents regardingpolitical and security issues, the agenda of the Meeting of Women Parliamentarians,cooperation in Asia-Pacific, economic and trade matters, and the jointstatement of the APPF-29.

The Vietnamese delegation contributed opinions on thedocuments in the spirit of the Party’s foreign policy of advancing multilateraldiplomacy, promoting the Vietnamese legislature’s position and role at regionaland international parliamentary mechanisms, and being willing to cooperate forregional recovery and development, towards an Asia-Pacific region of peace,stability, innovation, cohesiveness and sustainable development.

They proposed two draft resolutions and co-sponsoredfour others, and give opinions to other resolutions.

Established in 1993, the 27-member APPF aims toenhance dialogues between parliamentarians in the region regarding security,politics, and economic-commercial-cultural cooperation to address regional issues,contributing to maintaining peace, stability, sustainable development and prosperityin the region.

Vietnam has joined the forum since 1995./

NA Chairman attends rehearsal for fourth Dien Hong awards

More than 10 months after the competition’s launch, the organising board received 3,508 entries from 125 media outlets nationwide. After initial screening, 659 works proceeded to preliminary judging, from which a preliminary jury selected 91 entries for the final round. The final jury ultimately selected 64 works for awards.

PM directs tasks to boost economic growth
