A Vietnam-Laos National Assembly cooperation conference will take place in the northwestern province of Son La from April 22-26.
A Vietnam-Laos National Assembly cooperation conference will take placein the northwestern province of Son La from April 22-26.

Theevent is the national-level conference and highlights the cooperationbetween the two National Assemblies in the “Vietnam-Laos Friendship andSolidarity Year 2012”, Tran Van Hang, Head of the National Assembly’sCommittee for External Relations and head of the conference organisingboard, said in Hanoi on April 20.

This substantial activity alsomarks the 50 th anniversary of the diplomatic ties and the 35 thanniversary of signing the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Treaty, he said.

Theconference will help improve the effectiveness and quality ofcooperation between the two countries and the two National Assemblies,and the increase of exchanges between localities sharing commonborderline.

It is a chance for NA deputies, representatives fromministries, agencies and localities of both countries to share anddiscuss information on the implementation of the two countries’agreements.

The programme will include a photo exhibition on theVietnam-Laos traditional friendship held by the Vietnam News Agency, acultural exchange by Vietnam Television and a groundbreaking ceremony tobegin the construction of Lao Kho historical site in Son La province.-VNA

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
