Da Nang (VNA) – A Russian naval fleet with 262 crew members docked at Tien Sa port on May 10, beginning a five-day visit to the central city of Da Nang.
The Pacific Fleet contingent includes the corvettes Rezky and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and medium sea tanker Pechenga under the command of Colonel Anciferov Alexey Vitalievich.
The delegation was welcomed by representatives from the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, the Da Nang city People’s Committee, the Military Region 5 Command, the municipal Military Command, the municipal Border Guard Command, the Naval Region 3 Command and competent agencies.

During their stay, the Russian naval officers and sailors will engage in various activities, including laying wreaths at the Da Nang Heroes and Martyrs Memorial, paying courtesy calls to leaders of the municipal People’s Committee, the Naval Region 3 Command, and the Military Region 5 Command. They will also join exchanges with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3, tour Da Nang’s scenic attractions, and conduct joint training exercises.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia (January 30). The traditional friendship between the two nations has evolved from a Strategic Partnership in 2001 to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2012.
With support from the Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang, the cooperation between the city and Russian localities is expected to be strengthened, opening up new opportunities for economic, cultural, and educational exchanges as well as people-to-people connections.
The Pacific Fleet’s visit contributes to reinforcing the traditional friendship and mutual trust between the two nations, bolstering their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership./.
