Hanoi (VNA) – Potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Laos remains huge,especially in economy, said Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo member and head of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Economic Commission.

The Partyofficial made the statement in Hanoi while receiving a delegation from the NationalEconomic Research Institute (NERI) of Laos, led by its head BouasoneBouphavanh, in Hanoi on March 20.

Binh spokehighly of the Lao delegation’s working visit and congratulated Laos on itssignificant achievements after three years of implementing the Resolution ofthe 10th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

Vietnam alwaystreasures and gives priority to the development of Vietnam-Laos specialrelations, he affirmed.

The great friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos havebeen nurtured and passed down to many generations of leaders and people of thetwo nations over the years, he added.

Bouasone Bouphavanh,who is also former Prime Minister of Laos, lauded Vietnam’s socio-economicachievements over the recent years.

He alsoexpressed his hope that cooperative ties between the NERI and Vietnamese agencieswill reap positive outcomes in the coming time.-VNA
