Vietnam, Laos ink cooperative MoU on archive

The national archive agencies of Vietnam and Laos signed a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation in 2020 at a ceremony in Hanoi on December 3.
Hanoi (VNA) – The nationalarchive agencies of Vietnam and Laos signed a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateralcooperation in 2020 at a ceremony in Hanoi on December 3.

The MoU is a follow-up of thefruitful partnership between the State Records Management and Archives Departmentunder the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs and the National  Archives Department under the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs.

Director of the State Records Management and Archives  Department DangThanh Tung said the two agencies have effectively implemented cooperativeactivities, especially in human resources training and exchange of informationand professional materials.

According to Director of the Lao National ArchivesDepartment Thongchanh Keosenhom, the Lao agency has always receivedwhole-hearted assistance from the Vietnamese archive agency. In 2019, theVietnamese side has helped Laos train experts in archiving profession andprovided Laos with many documents on records and archive management.

Under the newly-signed MoU, thetwo sides will continue working together to revise the archives in French languageat the Lao National Archives Department, with the goal of exchangingcatalogues and documents related to the history of the two countries. /.

Preliminary results of 2025 rural, agricultural census announced

The 2025 census is Vietnam’s sixth nationwide survey focusing on rural areas and agriculture. It aims to collect fundamental data for compiling socio-economic statistical indicators, serving assessments of the current situation, analyses of trends, and the formulation of plans and strategies for rural development and agricultural, forestry and fisheries production at both national and local levels.
