The Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) will help its Lao counterpart establish a women and development centre and offer continued training to Lao female cadres for the 2014-2017 period, aiming to boost effective and sustainable cooperation between the two unions.
The scheme was agreed upon at talks between Laos Women’s Union Chairwoman Sisay Ludetmounsone and a visiting VWU delegation led by VWU Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thu Ha in Vientiane on August 20.
Under the agreement, the two associations will bolster delegation exchanges and share their experiences in promoting gender equality for women’s development.
Both sides were in the same mind when it came to cooperation in training for Vietnamese and Lao women in knowledge and skills regarding employment, family raising, reproductive health care and environmental protection.
The Vietnamese delegation will stay in Laos until August 25.-VNA
