Representatives of Lao and Vietnamese youth will gather at a week-long friendship exchange programme, to be held across four provinces of Laos from August 22.
The information was released by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCM CYUCC) in Hanoi on August 16.
The 60 member delegation, led by Phan Van Mai, Standing Secretary of the HCM CYUCC will tour the provinces of Bolikhamxay, Khammoune, Salavan and Savannakhet.
Mai said main activities will include a launch of the Vietnam-Laos border youth friendship village , a dialogue on youth works and cooperation and some charitable activities.
This annual event is an opportunity for younger generations from the two countries to strengthen their mutual understanding and learn more about the history and traditions of the Vietnam-Laos special friendship, he added.
The event, co-hosted by the HCM CYUCCC and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union, aims to mark the 50 th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year in 2012.-VNA
