The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the NationalAeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the US signed a jointdeclaration on the intention of cooperation in civil space and aviationactivities in Hanoi on Dec. 5.
This is the first basic agreement between Vietnam and NASA, openingprospects for cooperation between Vietnamese and NASA scientists inaviation and space research.
Director of VAST NationalSatellite Centre Pham Anh Tuan said cooperation with NASA will helpVietnamese scientists access and use NASA data sources in Vietnam ’sspace technology research.
VAST and NASA willcooperate in the research of space applications for social purposes, theexchange of data on earth research through satellites, environment andgeophysics and human resource training for space research, Tuan said.
VAST and NASA will assign experts to implement the framework agreement, he said./.
