Vietnam along with other ASEAN member states and India are actively preparing for the 2nd ASEAN-India Business Fair (AIBF) 2012 to herald the 20 th anniversary of ASEAN-India partnership.
The event will take place at Pragati Maidan International Expo Centre in New Delhi , from December 18-20.
According to Commercial Counselor of the Vietnam Embassy in India Nguyen Son Ha, the upcoming fair will have 350 pavilions and showcase a wide range of products.
Vietnam ’s pavilion will occupy an area of 324 sq. m, introducing agricultural and consumer goods and fine art articles of 25 businesses, corporations and associations.
The fair will enable Vietnamese participating businesses to seek ways to penetrate deeply into Indian markets, introduce their potentials and strengths, as well as popularize the national images.
On this occasion, Vietnam ’s Ministry of Trade and Industry will coordinate with the Indian Ministry of Trade and Textile Industry, the Federation of Indian Export Organisations, and partners to hold the Vietnam-India business and trade program in Kolkata of the state of Belgan on December 17, and in New Delhi on December 19, with the participation of 20 Vietnamese businesses.
AIBF was initiated by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the ASEAN-India Summit in Thailand in September, 2009. It is then held annually in India since 2011 with the aim of promoting bilateral trade and investment between Ind ia and ASEAN countries.
Trade between ASEAN and Ind ia hit 79.3 billion US D in 2011-2012.-VNA
