Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese students wonthree gold and one silver medals at the 49th International Chemistry Olympiad(IChO) that has concluded in Thailand. 

This is the highest achievements Vietnam hasobtained at an International Chemistry Olympiad.

Three golds went to Dinh Quang Hieu, a 12th grader, and Pham Duc Anh, an 11th grader, from theHigh School for Gifted Students -University of Natural Sciences, the Vietnam NationalUniversity, Hanoi; and Nguyen Bang Thanh Lam, a 12th graderfrom the Amsterdam High School in Hanoi.

Hoang Nghia Tuyen, a 12th grader fromthe Phan Boi Chau Gifted High School in the central province of Nghe An broughthome the silver.

This year’s competition saw the participation of297 students from 76 nations and territories.

The US ranked first with four gold medals.Vietnam and China stood second with three golds and one silver.-VNA

Four key community projects launched in central localities

OVs actively promote and distribute national products

Project 1797 serves as an important initiative of the Party and State to promote economic and trade development by boosting export activities. It has played a pivotal role in elevating the presence of Vietnamese brands and enhancing the quality of Vietnamese products internationally, while also strengthening Vietnam’s “soft power” on the global stage

Dong Nai launches ceramic festival

Bien Hoa ceramics are famous with a unique celadon glaze, “vert de Bien Hoa.” The “vert de Bien Hoa” glaze is made from ash glazes and copper alloys, which emerged in the 1920s. It is used to make large flower vases, animal statues, or roof tiles.
