Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS) Central Committee on October 30 sent emergency aid of nearly 2.6 billion VND (112,000 USD) in cash and kind to flood-hit households in the central provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai and south-central Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces.
The assistance included 800 boxes of necessities, 500 home-repair tool kits, 800 boxes of water purifier, and 1 billion VND in cash.
On the same day, the VRCS Central Committee also mobilised two delegations to the localities.
The organisation previously delivered close to 5 billion in cash and kind to Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, and Thua Thien-Hue provinces, which have been devastated by recent storms and floods./.
