The Governor of China’s Jiangsuprovince, Luo Zhijun, underlined Vietnam’s high position in theprovince's economy while welcoming Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to theprovince on April 27.
He described it as a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
Vietnam is Jiangsu’s leading partner from the Association ofSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which has encouraged the easternChinese province to look for a more comprehensive relationship with thecountry, said Luo.
He cited infrastructure, mechanical engineering, electronicappliances, petro-chemistry, human resources development and tourism asthe strengths that both countries should tap into for their mutualinterest.
His views were backed by the Vietnamese leader, who reiteratedVietnam ’s high regard for its relationship with Jiangsu and pledgedto do his best to take bilateral relations to a new height.
Dung and Luo expressed their satisfaction at the relationship betweenVietnam and China as well as between their ministries andadministrations.
They discussed measures to develop cooperation in many fields,especially in economy, trade, investment, education and tourism.
Dung praised the signing of cooperation accords at theVietnamese-Chinese economic forum in Jiangsu , describing them aspractical measures to develop bilateral relations./.
