On July 5 Vietnam confirmed an additional 11 A/H1N1 flu cases, bringing the total to 226, the Health Ministry said.

Of the newly-detected cases, nine are in the south and two in the north.

The southern region still has the highest number of infected cases with 196, while the northern region has 21 and the central region has nine.

Also by July 5, 123 patients have been recovered and released from hospitals.

The remaining cases are still being isolated and receiving medical treatment. All are reported to be in stable condition.

The ministry said the A/H1N1 flu epidemic has not yet shown any signs of breaking out into the community at large, nor has it claimed any lives so far in Vietnam./.
