Vietnam, Russia hold fifth strategic dialogue

The fifth VN-Russia Strategic Dialogue on Diplomacy-Defence-Security opened in HCM City on Dec. 7.
The fifth Vietnam-Russia Strategic Dialogue on Diplomacy-Defence-Security took place in Ho Chi Minh City on December 7.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Permanent Deputy Minister ofForeign Affairs, Ho Xuan Son, and the Russian delegation was headed byDeputy Foreign Minister A. I. Denisov.

During theannual dialogue, the two sides discussed measures to boost bilateralties in the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership.

They exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutualconcern, as well as their coordinated action at the United Nations andother international forums, especially regional connectivity mechanisms.

On the same day, Chairman of the HCM City People’sCommittee, Le Hoang Quan, received the Russian diplomat. The two sidesagreed to continue promoting traditional friendship and cooperationbetween the city and Russian localities.

Quan suggested the Russian side create favourable conditions for HCM City businesses to invest in its Far East region./.VNA
