– Vietnamese and Russian youngsters are gathering at a forum thatopened in Hanoi on July 23 night.

The Vietnam-Russia Youth Forum, jointly held by the National Committee on Youthof Vietnam and the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, will run untilJuly 29 with various activities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the northeasternprovince of Quang Ninh.

The forum, together with the Russia-Vietnam Youth Forum scheduled to take placein Moscow and Saint Petersburg from September 24 to October 1, aims to welcomethe Vietnam-Russia Year and the Russia-Vietnam Year and mark the 25thanniversary of the signing of the treaty on basic principles for Vietnam-Russiafriendship.

It is also expected to contribute to educating Vietnamese and Russian youngpeople about the traditional friendship between the two countries, whilepromoting the land, people and development achievements of Vietnam.

In his opening remarks, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong, who is also Chairman of the NationalCommittee on Youth of Vietnam, highlighted the Vietnam-Russia comprehensivestrategic partnership as well as developments in bilateral cooperation in youthaffairs.

The forum offers a chance for young people and those working in youth affairsof the two countries to share information about and experience in this sector,especially in volunteer work, new-style rural area building and support tostartups, he said.

Chairman of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs AlexanderBugayev expressed his hope that youths will work as junior ambassadors whocontribute to developing collaboration in youth affairs and people-to-peopleexchanges between Vietnam and Russia.-VNA

Vietnamese, Chinese cities to build smart border gate pair

They also consented to promote the development of a cross-border economic cooperation zone through sectoral cooperation at Hai Yen industrial park, Van Ninh international port in Mong Cai; a cross-border e-commerce industrial park; and transport connectivity projects between the two cities including the international railway line from Mong Cai to Dongxing, Bac Luan III bridge, and an auxiliary rough steel bridge.
