Vietnam seeks closer sci-tech cooperation with Germany

A delegation of Vietnam ’s Ministry of Science and Technology led by Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tien had a working visit to Germany from May 9-15 to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the area.
A delegation of Vietnam ’s Ministry of Science and Technology led by DeputyMinister Le Dinh Tien had a working visit to Germany from May 9-15 to strengthenbilateral cooperation in the area.

The visit was made on the occasion ofthe 35 th founding anniversary of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam andGermany and 15 th anniversary of the two-way sci-tech cooperation.

Duringthe trip, the delegation had separate working visits with the Federal Ministryof Education and Research (BMBF) in Berlin and Bonn cities, the Federal Ministryof Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the State Ministry for Scienceand the Arts of Sachsen.

At the headquarter of the BMBF in Berlin, StateSecretary Helge Brau and Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tien discussed measures ofpromoting cooperation between the two agencies in the coming time andaccelerating the signing of a scientific and technological cooperation agreementbetween the two countries in 2010.

During their visits to theuniversities of Berlin and Dresden , the delegation discussed with their Germancolleagues on expanding cooperation in machinery manufacturing, electromechanicsand automation between the two universities and Vietnamese partners./.

Project 06 has shown tangible results, he said, highlighting the country has completed the issuance of 100% of chip-based citizen ID cards, activated over 61 million electronic identity accounts, and provided 40 utilities on the VNeID application.
