Vietnam won two gold medals and a cup at the Vietnam International Photo Contest 2010, said Chu Chi Thanh, head of the contest’s jury board.
Vietnam won a gold medal in the black-and-white photo set category, a world cup for under-16 photographers and a gold medal for photographers between 16-21 years old.
At a ceremony to announce the contest’s prizes in Hanoi on May 24, Thanh said this was the first time, Vietnamese photographers had taken part in the junior contest and they won high prizes.
He said local artists should learn from foreign colleagues who are strong in single photos and good techniques, which are able to reflect in depth.
As many as 658 photos by photographers from 42 countries and territories were sent to the contest.
The five-member jury board included three from Sweden , Singapore and China .
Winning photos will be displayed at the Vietnam Cultural and Art Centre in Hanoi from August 1-8 during the 30 th Congress of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP)./.
