Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has issued a resolution on cutting and simplifying administrative procedures based on data, replacing paper documents in administrative dossiers with corresponding information extracted from databases.

It applies to 786 administrative procedures under the management of 14 ministries and one ministry-level agency.

Taking effect from January 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027, Resolution No. 66.7/2025/NQ-CP stipulates the replacement or reduction of dossier components by exploiting and using corresponding information from national and sectoral databases.

The streamlining will depend on the readiness of the databases; agencies will not require applicants to submit documentation if the information is already available in the databases announced by the database-managing authorities.

The use of database-derived information to replace documentation when handling administrative procedures for overseas Vietnamese, as well as foreign individuals and organisations living or operating in Vietnam, will also be carried out based on the level of database readiness.

The resolution also clarifies that the replacement of documentation applies not only to the 786 procedures listed but also to other administrative procedures where such replacement is applicable.

It notably cuts paper documentation in the dossier components of eight administrative procedures, including the issuance of permits for printing publications for foreign entities (both at central and local levels), the granting of identity cards for individuals under 14 (at the ministry, provincial, and commune levels), and the revision and supplementation of personal information in the dossiers of revolution contributors./.
