Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam-Laos Youth Friendship Meeting 2017 will be held fromSeptember 5-9 in Vietnam as part of a cooperation agreement between the Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union.

The Lao delegationwill be led by Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union CentralCommittee Sonthanu Thamavong.

The event aims toeducate the youth of Vietnam and Laos on the special solidarity between the twocountries, as well as the significance of the establishment of bilateral diplomaticties and the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

This is a chance forVietnamese and Lao youngsters to review the tradition of special fighting alliancebetween the two countries, while fostering the mutual understanding between thetwo youth unions.

The meeting will beorganised in Hanoi and the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh withvarious activities, including a signing ceremony of an agreement between the HoChi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Unionfor the 2017-2022 period, and talks between leaders of the two unions.

Participants will alsojoin a painting event on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laosdiplomatic ties, and visit a number of historical and cultural relic sites inVietnam.-VNA

Second government legislation meeting reviews draft bills

In his opening speech, PM Pham Minh Chinh revealed the Government’s plan to submit 63 documents and reports to the 15th NA’s 9th session, including 37 draft laws and regulatory resolutions, all aimed at having a wide-ranging impact on society. Earlier this month, feedback was provided on six other draft laws and resolutions.
