Vietnam to suspend labour export until end of April

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) on April 5 asked the Overseas Labour Management Department to order businesses to suspend sending workers abroad until the end of April.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Labour,Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) on April 5 asked the Overseas LabourManagement Department to order businesses to suspend sending workers abroaduntil the end of April.

It has also requested leaders of agencies undermunicipal and provincial Departments of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs tostep up urgent measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overseas Vietnamese labour management boards should encourageVietnamese labourers to stay calm, observe host countries’ regulations onCOVID-19 prevention and control, and avoid trips to disease-hit areas, whileensuring rights and interests of the labourers who are affected by theepidemic.

In its document sent to relevant agencies, theministry said that scheduled inspections will be also halted at this time, addingthat online inspections in the sphere of labour are encouraged.

The ministry urged medical declaration at the requestof the Ministry of Health, especially among the elderly and sick people, andensuring safety during social welfare payment./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
