At the meeting between Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh and officers and soldiers from Japan’s Self-Defence Forces (Source http://www.qdnd.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam attaches greatimportance to defence cooperation with Japan, Deputy Defence Minister NguyenChi Vinh told officers and soldiers from Japan’s Self-Defence Forces at areception in Hanoi on December 4.
He lauded the cooperation between Vietnam andJapan, especially between the two countries’ armies, in recent years.
Bilateral relations are being reinforced andexpanded in various fields, he said, adding that the two nations’ leadersalways pay attention to deepening defence ties.
Apart from high-level visits, increasingexchanges among soldiers have contributed to enhancing mutual trust andunderstanding, he said.
There is still large room for Vietnam and Japanto boost defence cooperation, he noted.
Agreeing with his host, Major General YuichiSakamoto expressed his belief that the two sides will open up new cooperativefields soon.
Japan is willing to share its experience inpeacekeeping activities with Vietnam, he added-VNA
