Vietnam treasures relations with Russia: PM

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 9 affirmed that Vietnam always treasures its relations with Russia and remembers the wholeheartedly support the country has given to Vietnam during its national protection, construction and development.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh onNovember 9 affirmed that Vietnam always treasures its relations with Russia andremembers the wholeheartedly support the country has given to Vietnam during its national protection, construction and development.

Receiving the Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Sen.Lieut. Gen Kurenkov Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich in Hanoi, Chinh said that Vietnamattaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership withRussia, considering Russia one of its top priority partners. He hoped for further practical and effective cooperation with Russia in all fields, for the common interests of the two countries' people, as well as for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

He suggested the two sides continue to increase the exchange ofdelegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, and effectively deployexisting cooperation mechanisms, particularly the intergovernmental committeemechanism, to remove bottlenecks in the cooperation process in the spirit ofharmonised interests and shared difficulties.

The two sides need to promote the effective implementation ofthe results of the Intergovernmental Committee Meeting; hasten the upgradingof the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union(EAEU); boost investment with a focus on developing new projects; and developspecific plans to soon reopen direct flights between the capitals of the twocountries.

For his part, the Russian minister informed the PM about the results of his talks with VietnameseMinister of Public Security General To Lam earlier, during which the twoofficials agreed on the urgent need to step up coordination between the twocountries to raise the efficiency of firefighting, and search and rescueoperations.

He said Russia always values traditional relations withVietnam and wishes to promote the relations in all fields.

Russian people are looking forward to theresumption of air routes between the two countries to strengthen investment, trade and tourism cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges, he added.

He affirmed that his ministry willcoordinate with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to implement areas ofcooperation as proposed by the Prime Minister./.

Reform drive expected to remove barriers, unlock growth momentum

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung recently ordered ministries and agencies to immediately cut at least 30% of administrative procedures, 50% of processing time, 50% of compliance costs and 30% of business conditions, while eliminating all unnecessary procedures.

Top leader of Vietnam receives Vientiane official in Hanoi

Hanoi, Vientiane promote comprehensive cooperation in new phase

The capitals of Vietnam and Laos signed memoranda of understanding on joint work in the fields of public communication and mass mobilisation, women and youth affairs, foreign relations, industry and trade, education and health care. These are expected to provide an important basis for implementing their cooperation priorities for 2026–2030.
