Vietnam, UK intensify cooperation in occupational education

The UK Embassy in Vietnam and the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training held a seminar on the two countries’ cooperation in occupational skills education and training on Jan. 17 in Hanoi.

Hanoi (VNA) – The UK Embassy in Vietnam in collaboration with theDirectorate of Vocational Education and Training held a seminar on the twocountries’ cooperation in occupational skills education and training on January17 in Hanoi.

Speaking at the event, Chargé d’Affaires at the embassySteph Lysaght said that Vietnam is a potential destination for cooperationopportunities from the UK. The two countries have cooperated in the field ofoccupational skills education and training.

This seminar offered a chance for the UK’s leadingoccupational skills education and training providers to expand cooperation withGovernment organisations, businesses, universities and colleges in Hanoi, hestated.

Pham Vu Quoc Binh, Director of the Vietnam VocationalTraining Accreditation Agency, said that the rapid development of the fourthIndustrial Revolution is posing numerous challenges for Vietnam’s economy.

To have high-quality human resources, Vietnam needs to buildan open and modern occupational education system.

Businesses should play a leading role in occupationaleducation and participate in several stages such as defining training demand,increasing the quality of student-centered training, and building a qualitytraining system.

At the seminar, UK enterprises shared their knowledge withand introduced technologies and equipment in occupational education andtraining to Vietnamese partners in the fields of automobile, garment andtextile, construction and restaurant.-VNA
