A seminar was recently held in London to provide the UK-based Vietnamese business community with detailed, up-to-date information on the trade and investment environment in Vietnam .

The seminar, jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the Vietnamese Embassy, and the Vietnam Business Association in the UK (VBUK), aimed to boost ties between Vietnamese business communities in and outside the country, as well as strengthen dialogues between State management agencies and overseas Vietnamese in the UK .

At the seminar, MoIT Deputy Minister Le Danh Vinh briefed attendees the State’s policies relating to trade, industry, business and investment as well as competitive advantages that Vietnamese businesses in the UK and North Ireland may make the best of while investing in the country.

He spoke highly of the prospects for economic cooperation between Vietnam and the UK in the coming years, with two-way trade expected to increase by 17 percent this year compared to last year.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK and North Ireland Tran Quang Hoan also praised efforts made by overseas Vietnamese in general, and their businesses in particular, in expanding investment in the homeland as well as promoting goods made in Vietnam and doing charitable work in the UK .

Overseas Vietnamese businesses were provided with information on such issues as trademarks, real estate investment, money transfer and seeking partners./.
