The statement was made by Truong Tan Sang, a Politburo member andpermanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of VietnamCentral Committee, while receiving Japanese Foreign Minister SeijiMaehara in Hanoi on October 29.
At the reception,Sang welcomed the Japanese Prime Minister’ official visit to Vietnam andattending the 17 th ASEAN Summit and related meetings, saying that itrepresents Japan’s appreciation of and support for Vietnam.
He thanked the Japanese government and people for their ODA provisions for Vietnam.
For his part, Minister Seiji Maehara emphasised the importance ofmaintaining regular visits and exchanges between the two countries’high-ranking leaders. He affirmed that the Japanese government treasuresrelations with Vietnam and will continue ODA provisions for thecountry.
Japan will actively implement cooperativeprojects agreed by the two sides, contributing to Vietnam’sindustrialisation and modernisation process, he stressed./.
