Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening the strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia with Japan, said a Politburo member.
The statement was made by Truong Tan Sang, a Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, while receiving Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara in Hanoi on October 29.
At the reception, Sang welcomed the Japanese Prime Minister’ official visit to Vietnam and attending the 17 th ASEAN Summit and related meetings, saying that it represents Japan’s appreciation of and support for Vietnam.
He thanked the Japanese government and people for their ODA provisions for Vietnam.
For his part, Minister Seiji Maehara emphasised the importance of maintaining regular visits and exchanges between the two countries’ high-ranking leaders. He affirmed that the Japanese government treasures relations with Vietnam and will continue ODA provisions for the country.
Japan will actively implement cooperative projects agreed by the two sides, contributing to Vietnam’s industrialisation and modernisation process, he stressed./.
