The Vietnamese Government wants to cooperate with the UK in hunger eradication and poverty reduction, as well as in coping with climate change and other challenges, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Deputy PM Nhan made the statement while receiving visiting UK Minister of State for International Development Alan Duncan in Hanoi on June 15.

He welcomed Duncan ’s attendance at the on-going High Level Tripartite Conference on Delivering as One (DaO) in Hanoi as Vietnam is one of eight countries that have piloted the DaO’s approach.

Both host and guest shared the same view that the two countries’ relations have seen fine developments, particularly in education and training, economics, trade and investment.

The UK is the only nation that has committed its ODA provision to Vietnam for ten consecutive years (2005-2015), said Deputy PM Nhan.

Minister Duncan said his government would assist Vietnam in coping with climate change, education and training, investment, cultural exchange and other fields that have been committed following the UK visits by PM Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan./.
