Hanoi (VNA) – The 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) for the 2024–2029 tenure officially concluded in Hanoi on the morning of December 18.

Over the two-day event, all agenda items were completed, and key documents, including a review report from the VYF Central Committee and another report on proposed amendments to the federation’s charter, were approved.

Nguyen Tuong Lam, freshly elected the chairperson of the central committee, said the congress upholds a spirit of democracy, consensually electing the 9th central committee that composes of qualified and exemplary individuals representing young people across the country.

He noted the congress has set a series of goals, including nurturing a generation of youth with revolutionary ideals, patriotism, national pride, resilience, and a strong desire to contribute to the nation. The federation will strive to promote unity and inclusivity among diverse groups of young Vietnamese as well as create an environment conducive to learning, training, working, and recreation to foster their comprehensive intellectual, physical, and aesthetic development.

Lam underscored that Vietnam is entering a new phase of development with high requirements, toward becoming a high-income developed country by 2045.

Opportunities abound, but challenges are equally significant, he said. The success of this congress will energise VYF organisations at all levels, leaders, and members nationwide to embark on a new term of service, leading the way in carrying out tasks and responsibilities of the era and contributing to the nation’s growth, Lam affirmed./.
