Beijing (VNA) – Officials of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) have rejoiced at the practical outcomes in cooperation between the Parties’ respective Communication and Education Commission and the Publicity Department.

Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission Vo Van Thuong met with head of the CPC Central Committee’s Publicity Department Liu Qibao in Beijing on January 13. The meeting was part of an official visit to China by CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

They said their agencies’ cooperation has helped to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples and consolidate a favourable social foundation for the expansion of the countries’ relations.

The two sides have boosted exchanges and cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese news agencies and press outlets so as to update their people on each country’s political, economic and social situation.

They have also enhanced collaboration in culture, education and people-to-people exchanges while sharing experience in the Party building and theoretical work, the officials noted.

Efforts will be continued to foster the agencies’ cooperation and discuss the focuses of communication collaboration and measures to improve cooperation effectiveness in 2017, they added.

They also expressed their delight at the outcomes of the talks between the Vietnamese and Chinese Party General Secretaries as they are critical to orienting the cooperation between the two Parties and countries, serving as a foundation for their communication cooperation.

At the meeting, the officials underlined the need for closer ties between news agencies and press outlets of Vietnam and China, experience exchange in managing information on the Internet, cultural and education cooperation, and youth exchanges, thereby promoting mutual understanding and reinforcing a favourable social foundation for the healthy, stable and long-term development of bilateral relations.

They also discussed the coordination in organising the Parties’ 13th theoretical workshop, scheduled in China in 2017.

Also on January 13, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh had a working session with Chinese Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng and head of China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Zhi Shuping.-VNA
