A music show has put the last note to a string of activities held at theVietnamese culture centre in Paris to celebrate the 2014 Vietnam Yearin France.

The Vietnam Year in France has reaped asuccess beyond expectation thanks to the persistent efforts of partnersof both countries, to which the centre has played an important role,said Honourary President of the France-Vietnam Friendship AssociationMadame Helene Luc at the show.

She called on the centre staff to make more contributions to popularising the Vietnamese culture in France and vice versa.

Since its establishment in 2008, the centre has served as a primaryvenue for the Vietnamese community in France to introduce their cultureto French friends and tighten the relationship between the twocountries, said Director Le Hong Chuong.

The centrehas opened classes to teach Vietnamese, national music instrument, andmartial arts, and organised cultural events in many localities inFrance.

New director of the centre Nguyen ThanhVuong pledged to diversify activities to better serve the spiritualneeds of overseas Vietnamese and turn the centre into a common house forboth Vietnamese and international friends of Vietnam.-VNA

Visitors enjoy Thai environment, lifestyle at Hanoi festival

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts. They also enjoyed traditional dances from many regions of Thailand, tried making Khanom Krok coconut cakes and painting patterns on silk, among other activities.
