Vietnamese Embassy greets Lao Party

Vientiane (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to LaosNguyen Ba Hung on March 17 visited the headquarters of the Commission for ExternalRelations of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee inVientiane to extend greetings on the LPRP’s 68th foundinganniversary (March 22, 1955-2023).

Congratulating Laos on the great achievements in all fieldsthat the country has made in the past 68 years, Hung affirmed thatunder the leadership of the LPRP, the Lao people have overcome alldifficulties, hardships, and challenges and won great victories in the struggle for national liberation and national defense and construction, helping raise Laos' position on the regional and international arenas.

He said he believes that under the LPRP’s leadership, the Lao peoplewill continue to record achievements in the cause of national construction anddevelopment.

The Vietnamese diplomat emphasised that Vietnam always stays steadfast in preserving and cultivating the bilateral great friendship,special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.

Head of the Commission for External Relations of the LPRPCentral Committee Thongsavanh Phomvihane stressed that the LPRP and theCommunist Party of Vietnam have the same origin from the Indochinese CommunistParty. Over the past years, the two Parties have always worked together in the cause of national defense and construction, which has created a unique relationship in the world.

He said that in the coming time, the commission will continue to work closely with theVietnamese Embassy in Laos to cultivate great friendship, special solidarity,and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam./.

Revised law on organisation of Government set to be adopted on Feb.18

The draft law clarifies the cabinet's duties along several key dimensions such as submitting fundamental and critical matters to the NA for decision, presenting issues within the NA Standing Committee's jurisdiction for resolution, proposing amnesty decisions to the President in accordance with the regulations, and executing responsibilities within the Government's authority.
