The Oriental University of Naples in the Campania region, Italy willinclude Vietnamese language as an official subject in its curriculum inthe next school year.
This was affirmed by Professor Pietro Masina from the OrientalUniversity of Naples at a seminar introducing investment opportunitiesin Vietnam, held in Naples city on May 5.
Theinitiative is of significance, serving as the first step to advancingcomprehensive relations between Vietnam and Italy in general andCampania region in particular, said Vicenzo Schiavo, an official fromNaples municipal Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Handcraft andAgriculture (CCIAA).
Vicenzo Schiavo pledged that CCIAA will actively support the Vietnamese-teaching project in the future.
Participants at the seminar agreed that adding Vietnamese languageinto the curriculums of Italian schools would enhance culturalexchanges.
Vietnam has recently dispatched adelegation of young entrepreneurs to study and learn more about Italy’smanagement experience.
Naples city also plans tosend its young entrepreneurs to Vietnam to learn about the country’sexperience in attracting FDI and coping with regional and globaleconomic crisis.
Currently, Italy is carrying out 34 investment projects in Vietnam worth a total of 162 million USD./.
