Vietnamese, Lao embassies in China hold friendship exchange

Beijing (VNA) – Vietnamese and Lao Ambassadors to China DangMinh Khoi and Vandy Bouthasavong as well as officials of the two embassies attendeda get-together at the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing on March 23.

Addressing the event, Khoi extended greetings to the Lao ambassador andembassy’s staff on the 63rd founding anniversary of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party (LPRP) and congratulated the Lao people on important achievementsthey have gained over the past 63 years.

He expressed delight at the progress of the Vietnam-Laos traditionalfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, as well as relationsbetween the two embassies over the past years.

The two embassies have supported each other, contributing to promotingthe Vietnam-Laos relations as well as the development of the friendship betweenASEAN and China, he noted.

The diplomat congratulated Lao Ambassador Vandy Bouthasavong on hissuccessful assumption of the role as the Chair of the ASEAN Committee inBeijing.

Khoi expressed his hope that 2018 will be a successful year for the relationshipbetween Vietnam and Laos in general and between the two embassies inparticular.

Meanwhile, Vandy Bouthasavong lauded the maintenance of exchangeactivities between the two embassies, which has helped enhance mutualunderstanding and solidarity among officials of the two agencies, especiallyyoung diplomats.

Over the past years, the embassies of Vietnam and Laos have held regularmeetings at the beginning of the year and invited each other to celebrations oftraditional New Year of each country.-VNA

HCM City tackles fishing violations at roots

As of December 9, all of the 4,475 fishing vessels in HCM City had registered and updated in the VNFishbase database, of them 4,268 licensed. The remainder, classified as ineligible, are strictly monitored and kept moored locally, with no permission to put to sea.

Vietnam, IAEA comprehensively assess national nuclear power infrastructure
