Vietnamese leaders extend condolences to Mozambique over shipwreck

Hanoi (VNA) - Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on April 9 cabled a message ofcondolences to Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi over a shipwreck offthe northern coast of Mozambique that left more than 100 people dead andmissing.

Prime MinisterPham Minh Chinh sent a message of condolences to his Mozambican counterpartAdriano Maleiane, while National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue extended hiscondolences to President of the Assembly of Mozambique Esperanca Bias.

The sameday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son also sent his condolences toMozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Veronica Macamo./.

Vietnam, Laos strengthen cooperation on overseas community affairs

The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in overseas Vietnamese and overseas Lao affairs for the 2026–2030 period, providing a framework for future collaboration.
