Ankara (VNA) – Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrived in Ankara on October 10 afternoon (local time), beginning an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Binali Yildirim.
She made the visit after attending the third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments in Antalya city of Turkey.
The Vietnamese delegation includes Chairman of the NA’s Committee for External Relations Nguyen Van Giau, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Chairman of the NA’s Defence and Security Committee Vo Trong Viet, and head of the NA Standing Committee’s ombudsman board Nguyen Thanh Hai.

At Esenboğa International Airport in Ankara, the Vietnamese delegation was welcomed by Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Turkey-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group Sami Cakir, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country.
This is the first time a top legislator of Vietnam has paid an official visit and also the highest-level trip by a leader of the Vietnamese Party and State to Turkey.
The visit aims to continue enhancing the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in the context of the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties in 2018. It also marks a new milestone in developing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Turkey, as well as between their parliaments.–VNA
