To hasten the search for victims, the search and rescue team from the Vietnam People's Army divided into two groups on February 15th to aid in earthquake recovery efforts in Hatay province, Turkey.
The Vietnamese team, having previously surveyed the location, dispatched Group 1 under the leadership of Major General Pham Van Ty to search for victims in Haci Omer Alpagot village, situated in Antakya, the capital city of Hatay province.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Minh led Group 2 in providing support to the Bahrain rescue team in their search for victims within the residential area on Harapasi street in Antakya.
Military engineers, search and rescue dogs, and medical personnel were part of both groups.
Earlier, the Bahrain team sought help from the Vietnamese team as they lacked specialized equipment and search and rescue dogs.
As a result, the Vietnamese team conducted surveys at 8 different locations and identified 3 sites that could possibly have victims./.
