Vietnamese students bring home medals from Int’l Mathematical Olympiad

All the six Vietnamese high-school students competing at the 2022 International Mathematical Olympiad have secured medals, with two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.

Hanoi (VNA) - All the six Vietnamese high-schoolstudents competing at the 2022 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) have securedmedals, with two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.

The results placed Vietnam at the 4th position out of the 104teams participating in the competition, behind China, the Republic of Korean,and the US.

The gold medals belonged to 12th grader Ngo QuyDang and 11th grader Pham Viet Hung, both from the Hanoi Universityof Science High School for the Gifted under the Hanoi National University. Notably,Dang got a perfect score of 42/42.

The silver medalists were Pham Hoang Son from the HighSchool for the Gifted under the Ho Chi Minh City National University, andNguyen Dai Duong from the Lam Son High School for the Gifted in the centralprovince of Thanh Hoa. The two students are in the 12th grade.

The two bronze medals went to 12th graders Vu NgocBinh and Hoang Tien Nguyen from the Vinh Phuc High School for Gifted Studentsin the northern province of Vinh Phuc and Phan Boi Chau High School for GiftedStudents in the central province of Nghe An, respectively./.

Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)
