Hanoi (VNA) - VietnamPlus, the online newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency, has received international recognition for the second time, winning the Best Innovative Digital Product award at WAN-IFRA’s Digital Media Awards Asia 2025 for its interactive 3D feature.

The award-winning entry, titled “70 Years of Hanoi’s Liberation: A Sacred and Elegant Capital,” was recognised as one of the most prestigious categories of the conference. The interactive 3D story was launched to mark the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (10 October 1954 – 2024), and is among the first of its kind in Vietnamese journalism. It offers readers a unique and immersive experience, bringing history to life in a vivid and engaging format. The piece allows users to “step into” historical stories using interactive 3D storytelling, whether via mouse scrolls on desktop or swipes on smartphones.

This is the second time VietnamPlus has received a WAN-IFRA award. In 2014, its RapNewsPlus segment won First Prize in the Digital First category, which recognises innovative approaches to engaging young audiences through digital devices such as mobile phones and tablets.

Taking place from April 23-25 in Kuala Lumpur, the Digital Media Awards (DMA) is one of the most prestigious annual journalism and media events in the Asia-Pacific region. It serves as a premier platform for digital transformation in the news industry, drawing hundreds of publishers, journalists, and media executives to exchange knowledge, share business models, and explore cutting-edge solutions in media innovation./.
