– The top 10 2015 Outstanding Vietnamese Youth awards will be unveiled at a ceremony celebrating the 85th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) on March 21, according to the youth union’s central committee.

The HCMCYU awards will be presented to 10 prominent people under 35 years old who stood out in scientific research, production, business operation, defence, security and order, culture, arts, sports, social affairs and other voluntary activities in 2015.

The 10 awardees were chosen from 20 outstanding contestants, narrowed down from 172 profiles introduced by numerous organisations and agencies. The remaining 10 will receive awards for being the young promising faces of the year.

The awards have honoured nearly 200 excellent youngsters since 1996.

A forum on outstanding youths, and trips to the Hung Kings Temple Relic Site and Tay Thien tourist attraction are also scheduled.-VNA

Quang Ngai to remove hundreds of unregistered fishing vessels

To date, Quang Ngai has 5,194 registered fishing vessels, with data regularly updated in the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase). The provincial licensing rate for fishing activities has reached 81.94%, while 99% of local vessels required to install vessel monitoring systems (VMS) have complied.

A total of 351 communes free of temporary, dilapidated houses

From February 21-28, 7,540 temporary and dilapidated houses were renovated or replaced nationwide, bringing the total number of facilities improved under humanitarian policy to 115,481. Of these, 62,737 houses were inaugurated, while construction began on another 52,744.

In 2025, the southwestern province plans to rebuild or renovate 567 houses under its temporary housing eradication plan, including 443 new constructions and 124 repairs, with an estimated budget of over 44.8 billion VND (1.75 million USD).
