Vietnam’s 48-year UN membership: Partnering for peace, cooperation and shared progress
Nearly half a century since officially joining the United Nations as its 149th member (20 September 1977 –2025), Vietnam has continuously affirmed its role as an active and responsible member. The country has taken part extensively in UN activities – from peacekeeping operations and development cooperation to addressing global challenges, thereby strengthening its standing, reputation, and image as a peace-loving, dynamic and integrating nation.
