Vietnam’s 70th National Day marked in Australia

A ceremony was held in Canberra, Australia, on September 2 by the Vietnamese Embassy to celebrate Vietnam’s 70th National Day.

Speaking at the event, Australian Minister for Immigration and Border Protection Peter Dutton said that Vietnam is a typical story of success.

The 300,000-strong Vietnamese community in Australia not only have contributed importantly to developing the bilateral ties, but also help diversify culture in Australia, he added.

Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi took the occasion to thank the support of governments, peoples, and organisations over the world for Vietnam’s past struggle for national liberation and current nation-building and development cause.

The diplomat expressed his belief that with the firm foundation and the newly-signed agreement on enhancing comprehensive partnership, the Vietnam-Australia relations will grow further.-VNA
