The Vietnam War Veterans Association in Berlin and Brandenburg, Germany, has held a ceremony to mark the 66 th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (Dec. 22).
Addressing the function, Colonel Pham Duy Phe, Vietnamese Defence Attache to Germany , highlighted the history of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 66 years and affirmed that in the new situation, the army would continue to develop and fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and people and protect the national territorial integrity.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy decided to present a certificate of merit to the executive board of the Association of Vietnamese War Veterans in Berlin and Brandenburg for their contributions to community-based activities over the past time, especially in 2010.
The association has raised funds to help soldiers in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and flood victims in central region of Vietnam./.
