Vietnam’s economic development potential presented in Germany

His speech,delivered at the Messer AG convention centre in Frankfurt, highlightedVietnam as a force for growth in the ASEAN market which is likely tohave a 105 million-strong population and a gross domestic product ofsome 540 billion USD by 2030.

He also outlined fivesolutions for the country’s sustainable growth: controlling public debt,fighting corruption, reducing non-performing bank loans, preventingclimate change impacts and enhancing cyber security.

The German-language speech received positive responses from listenersat the event, where Nhan also answered questions regarding tourism andenergy.

The same day, the Vietnamese delegation had aworking session with Minister for Higher Education, Research and theArts of the Hessen state Boris Rhein, who spoke highly of the soundmultifaceted cooperation between the two countries as well as betweenHessen and Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities.

Rhein highlighted the Vietnam-Germany University project, implementedsince 2008 in coordination with his ministry, and considered it the mostoutstanding result of the countries’ educational partnership. He alsoexpressed his belief in bilateral collaboration development.

In Bonn city, the Vietnamese side met Head of the InternationalRelations Department of the German Cooperative and RaiffeisenConfederation Andreas Kappes, who gave an overview of the developmentand current organisation of the confederation and shared reasons for thesuccess of the cooperative system in Germany.-VNA
