On September 2, the Vietnamese Embassy inIndonesia, in conjunction with the Vietnamese permanent delegation toASEAN, held a ceremony in Jakarta to mark the day.
Speakingat the event, Ambassador Nguyen Xuan Thuy reiterated the traditionalties between Indonesia and Vietnam, expressing his gratitude to theIndonesian Government for its support for Vietnam in the past.
Thediplomat confirmed that Vietnam always actively supports regionallinkages through multi-lateral channels, such as the Association ofSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC), and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), and considers building andconsolidating strategic trust a crucial contribution to the maintenanceof peace, stability and maritime security and safety in the region.
On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassies in Mozambique and Angola hosted similar events marking the 69th National Day.
Onbehalf of the Government of Mozambique, the General Secretary of theForeign Ministry, Filipe Shidumo, praised the achievements gained by theVietnamese people over the past years.
He expressed his hope to learn from Vietnam’s experiences in socio-economic development and national defence.
Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung highlighted the greatsignificance of the anniversary, reviewing the progress made in terms ofthe friendship and bilateral cooperation between the parties,governments and peoples of the two countries.
At the same time,Ambassador to Angola Do Ba Khoa underlined the determination of theVietnamese Government and people in nation building and national defenceas well as safeguarding its sovereignty.
He expressed his hopethat the relations between Vietnam and Angola will reach a newlevel in the future, particularly regarding agriculture, aquaculture,civil engineering, social welfare and labour, health care and education,trade, and technology.
Earlier, the Vietnamese Embassies inBelarus and Israel also hosted ceremonies in celebration of theNational Day of Vietnam.-VNA
