A Vietnamese delegation led by Thinh Giang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan dan (People) newspaper, attended the 6 th Congress of the Party of Italian Communists (PDCI) in the Italian city of Rimini from Oct. 28-30.
The event drew the participation of 500 delegates representing 35,000 Party members across the European country and 45 foreign delegations.
Addressing the event, the General Secretary of PDCI, Oliviero Diliberto read a political report reviewing the Party’s activities over the previous tenure and proposing orientations on policies and apparatus organisation work of PDCI for the next period.
Diliberto said that PDCI is determined to strengthen the Party building work and promote international cooperation in the near future, especially with communist parties, workers’ parties and left-wing parties all over the world.
At the event, Diliberto was re-elected as PDCI General Secretary.
At a reception for the Vietnamese delegation, Diliberto said he hoped the two Parties would boost cooperation in the near future, especially in the exchanges of theoretical information, delegations and experience in the Party building work and developing the socialist-oriented market economy.
The Vietnamese delegation also met and exchanged experience with participating counterparts./.
