VN attends meeting of communist parties

At the meeting and working sessions withrepresentatives of parties, Hung introduced the results of the 11thCongress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the country’ssocio-economic development achievements over the past 25 years ofrenewal.

Delegates said in the present international context, thestable development of Vietnam and socialist countries reflects thestrong vitality and bright prospects of socialism.

With the theme of“Socialism is the future”, the meeting drew more than 100 foreigndelegates who represented 78 communist and workers parties from 61countries worldwide.

At the meeting, the delegates focuseddiscussions on international issues, the situation of internationalcommunist and workers movements over the past 20 years following thecollapse of socialism in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe aswell as tasks to step up class struggles amid the crisis of capitalism.

Thejoint statement of the meeting stressed that amid the crisis ofcapitalism, socialist construction experience and practices prove thepre-eminences of socialism and that only socialism can wipe out wars,unemployment, poverty and illiteracy.

Communist and workers’ partiesshould promote activities and uphold its leading role in workers andpeople’s struggle towards socialism, said the joint statement.

Whilein Athens, the Vietnamese delegation was received by General Secretaryof the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Aleka Papariga, who spoke highlyof the delegation’s attendance at the meeting.

Aleka Papariga affirmed that the KKE wants to further promote its relations and exchange experience and theories with the CPV./.

15th National Assembly convenes 9th session

President of Sri Lanka begins state visit to Vietnam
