The Canberra Times on February 25 published a series of articles on Vietnam - Australia relations on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Hoang Vinh Thanh affirmed in his article that Vietnam and Australia have succeeded in promoting bilateral economic and political relations, and tightened the association between the two peoples over the past four decades.
He expressed his belief that the friendly relations between the two countries will see stronger growth in the coming time, contributing to each side’s prosperity and security, as well as regional peace and stability.
In another article, Professor Carl Thayler, a leading expert on Vietnam and Southeast Asia at the Australian Defence Academy, said that the two countries have mutually benefited from their foreign policies, including environmental protection, climate change, natural calamity prevention, anti-terrorism, anti-weapons of mass destruction dissemination and anti-trans-national crimes.-VNA
