VN, Laos students showcase photo exhibition

A photo exhibition of students from Vietnam and Laos ’ fine art universities opened on March 10 in the Lao capital city of Vientiane.
A photo exhibition of students from Vietnam and Laos ’ fine artuniversities opened on March 10 in the Lao capital city of Vientiane.

The exhibition, jointly held by the Lao Fine ArtDepartment under Ministry of Information and Culture and VietnameseCultural Centre in Laos , was attended by Lao Permanent Deputy PrimeMinister Somsavad Lengsavath and Vietnam Ambassador Ta Minh Chau.

Under the theme of “the Party and Vietnam-Laos youth”,the exhibition showcased 70 art works of students from threeuniversities, including Vietnam Fine Arts Teachers’ University, LaoNational Faculty of Fine Art and Lao Teachers’ College .

The photos not only represented the youthfulness of young people inthe new era but also embodied the students’ thankfulness to the Party aswell as the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos overthe war time as well as during the national development.

The exhibition also aims to celebrate the success of Vietnam ’s 11th National Party Congress and welcome the upcoming Lao 9 th PartyCongress.

The exhibition will run till March 25./.

Residents stopped work and gathered quietly along both sides of the road leading to the cemetery. Veterans stood at attention and saluted, elderly people clasped their hands in reverence, and children held up the national flag.

Memorial service held for 731 fallen soldiers in Ho Chi Minh City

From June 23 to October 5, Team K74 and other forces recovered 731 sets of martyrs’ remains from the park. Biological samples and DNA samples collected from relatives of unidentified fallen soldiers are being analysed and stored in the national gene bank to support identification efforts.
