Vietnam wants to learn Egypt’s experience in organising, designingand exhibiting artifacts as a foundation for the later display in thebasement of the new National Assembly building.
Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Science, madethe wish during his working session with Egyptian Minister ofAntiquities Mohammed Ibrahim Ali in Cairo on April 7.
He stressed the importance of the display in the basement of the newNA building as part of the overall project covering the Imperial Citadelof Thang Long, which was recognised by the UN Educational, Scientificand Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a world cultural heritage.
Thang said he admires the preservation and promotion of the values ofthousand-year-old heritages in Egypt and hopes that the two sideswill soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in thisfield.
For his part, the Egyptian Minister expressed hope forinternational cooperation in promoting Egyptian heritages to the world,saying that his country is willing to share preservation and museumexperience with Vietnam.
During the April 2-7 visit, theVietnamese delegation visited outdoor archaeological relic sites andmuseums in Aswan, Luxor and Cairo.-VNA
